Teach systematic and general theology courses to graduate students (Master’s and doctoral level). Courses taught on-campus and in online or hybrid format include Systematic Theology 1, Systematic Theology 2, Pneumatology, Ecumenical Theology, Charismatic Renewal Theology, Systematic Theology from a Pneumatological Perspective, Ecclesiology, Renewal Theological Method, and Theological German. Designed first online language course at Regent University. Responsible for language proficiency exam in German and French on the doctoral level.

Taught twelve sections of Introduction to Christian Theology: From the Bible to the Middle Ages and nine sections of Introduction to Christian Theology: From the Middle Ages to the Modern Period, a summer course on Theological German and Perspectives in Western Civilization. Designed core theology courses for the purpose of integrating Christian faith and praxis, as part of the University’s project The Church in the 21st Century. Initiated and guided The Student Church Council Project with focus on developing critical thinking skills among students for development, transformation and reform in the Church.

Taught the advanced summer study course The Theology of the Holy Spirit.   Introduced students to the person and mission of the Holy Spirit in Christian faith and praxis through a thorough reading of a selection of relevant biblical texts and sources from Christian history. Explained, prepared, and guided discussion sessions on the question of reintegration of pneumatology into the theological and liberal arts curriculum.  Initiated and supervised discussion sessions on the question of integrating a theology of the Holy Spirit into the Christian life and praxis of faith.

ADJUNCT LECTURER                                                                                                     2001 - 2002

Marquette University, Department of Theology

Taught a section of the core curriculum course, Introduction to Theology, in light of a historical and systematic reading of Scripture and relevant texts from various Christian traditions. Explained, prepared, and guided discussion sessions on six central questions of the Christian faith: Meaning, God, Separation, Jesus Christ, Church, and Discernment. Developed assessment tests for students taking this course as part of the self-assessment process of the theology department.  Designed and guided reflection exercises.

Taught and developed an area study course in comparative theology on East Asian Religions with emphasis on Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, Shintoism and folk religions. Taught classes on particularities of Christianity in Europe and North America. RESEARCH INITIATIVE, John Templeton Foundation                                                     2006- 2008

Science and the Spirit Research Initiative

Participate in a research project that examines the theological appropriation of scientific paradigm shifts on contemporary pneumatology.  The focus of this research is a proposal that articulates a pneumatological perspective which invites scientific and theological dialogue about the relationship of a pneumatological approach to time and the laws of physics, the implications of the scientific perspective for contemporary pneumatology, and the formulation of a concept of time that is neither exclusively scientific nor theological yet does not abandon the principles of either perspective.

Serve as academic consultant to the Luther Digest, an annual abridgment of Luther studies. Translate and abridge monographs, essays, and articles relevant to the life and theology of Martin Luther. Developed and coordinated an international relations program between Japan and Germany on a local level in Okinawa, Japan. Served as advisor, interpreter, and consultant in the development of a German Culture Village, a multi-million Yen project subsidized by the Japanese government. Worked as official employee in the planning and development agency of a regional Okinawa government.  Taught beginner’s level and intermediate German to employees and the general public.
