Welcome!

This portfolio is designed for my colleagues, students and friends. It should serve as a small window that allows you to see who I am and what I do. Any information you cannot find on this website may be obtained from me in a personal conversation.  Choose the Contact section to learn how to get in touch with me.

I am associate professor of systematic theology and founding director of the Center for Renewal Studies at the Regent University School of Divinity. My goal is to understand and explain the presence of God in today’s world. Although this intention is fundamentally theological in nature, I am particularly interested in the significance of the so-called non-theological dimensions of the Christian life.

I was born and raised in Germany and have a broad international background that is also reflected in my education, religious experience, and ministry. If you would like to learn more, choose the About Me section of this website, or acces the extended version of my academic curriculum vitae.

I teach various courses in systematic theology and Christian doctrine, including pneumatology, ecclesiology, ecumenical theology, charismatic renewal theology, theological method, and theological German on the master's and doctoral level. You can learn more about my courses in the Classes section of this website, which also contains course materials and syllabi.

My writings typically focuses on questions of renewal for the formulation of a global and ecumenical theological agenda. I am the author of a number of books, essays, articles, dictionary entries, and book reviews. My most recent book is Beyond Pentecostalism: The Crisis of Global Christianity and the Renewal of the Theological Agenda (Eerdmans, 2010). I am also interested in the relationship of theology and the natural sciences, particularly the impact of scientific  paradigm shifts on contemporary theology and its methodology.I am a founding editor and contributor to Renewal Dynamics, the official blog of the School of Divinity and the Center for Renewal Studies. Currently, I am pursuing research on the variety of theological environments and the forces that shape global Christianity. This work is integrated in the broader context of my current research from a renewal perspective.

It is my prayer that every aspect of my work may be effective and fruitful in the knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:8).
